Matthew T. McLaughlin
Matthew T. McLaughlin received his BFA degree in Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2007 and his MFA degree in Printmaking from Arizona State University in 2011. He is a lecturer of printmaking and foundations at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD and teaches workshops on different printmaking techniques at regional print shops.
Matthew has shown his work nationally and internationally and in 2013 established R&D editions, a fine art press working with artist, scientists, and engineers to create limited edition prints. His work explores concepts focused on space, place, and human interaction with their environments. McLaughlin delves into ideas around separations of environments and place through political means, specifically considering borders, boundaries and territories as political tools through
visual means.
