Jonathan D. Metzger
Jonathan D. Metzger is an artist and educator currently living in Central Virginia, where he teaches drawing, painting and design courses at Hampden-Sydney College as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, Metzger's research explores the American construction of tools, personal identity, and object-hood through his own autobiographical mythology as a male growing up in the rural Midwest. In the spring of 2010, he graduated from Viterbo University with a BFA. In 2013, he received his MFA in prints and works on paper at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.
Metzger's works are in numerous collections around the country including Purdue University, The Delta Small Print Organization, SGC International Archives, University of North Texas, Millsaps College, and Frogman's Press and Gallery Permanent Collection. He has exhibited his work in over forty national and international exhibits in the past five years.
