Barbara Kerne
Barbara Kerne is a painter and printmaker lives and works in Bethesda, Maryland. She is a Professor Emerita at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. She received her MFA from University of Maryland, College Park, and a BA from Brooklyn College in New York, where she studied with Ad Reinhart and Jimmy Ernst.
Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in many public and private collections. She
has had many one- person exhibitions in the Washington DC area, including at Jane Haslem Gallery, Franz Bader Gallery, Cosmos Club, and Addison Ripley Fine Art. Her work is represented in public and private collections including the Library
of Congress, Norton Gallery of Art, Portland Art Museum and US Department of State. Awards include Maryland State council Individual Artist Award in Visual Art, and fellowships at Centrum Franz Masereel in Kasterlee, Belgium.
